Nagma was born in Mumbai on 25 December 1974. She is a former Indian film actress and currently she is ranked as a political figure. Her birth name is Nandita Arvind Morarji. Her biological father, Arvind Pratap Singh Morarji hails from the royal Hindu Rajput family background from Jaisalmer. Though she made her entry in the film world through Bollywood but she has also acted in several Tamil, Telugu, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Punjabi and Marathi films. Nagma is best known for her work in South Indian films especially in Tamil and Telugu movies. She is best known for films like Gharana Mogudy with Chiranjeevi, Baashha with Rajinikanth, Kadhalan with Prabhu Deva, etc.

Nagma started her film career in Bollywood with her debut movie Baghi: A Rebel for Love, opposite Salman Khan in 1990. Again she was starred opposite Akshay Kumar with other co-actors like Ajay Devgan and Karishma Kapoor in one of the highest grossing film called Suhaag in 1994. The all time hit song – “Gore Gore Mukhre Me Kala Kala Chasma” was filmed upon her and Akshay Kumar which is still remembered today. After that, at the request of her friend actress Divya Bharti, she moved to star in South Indian films especially in Telugu and Tamil movies.

She has worked in more than 10 languages in movies. When she is asked why she is doing South Indian and Bhojpuri films, she has stated that apart from meaty roles she also want to travel all over India and understand its different cultures. Nagma has also acted in several Bhojpuri movies like Ganga in 2006 opposite the megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Dulha Milal Dildar in 2005 where she won the Bhojpuri awards for the best actress. However, her first Bhojpuri movie was Panditji Battayina Biyaah Kab Hoii. After that she even made her debut in the Punjabi film called Ek Jind Ek Jaan in 2006 opposite Raj Babbar.

Nagma also had launched her own clothing line in Mumbai called ‘Nagma’s. Her boutique was a huge success but unfortunately it had to be closed down on 2003 due to her father’s illness. Nagma was also the part of the political party of the Indian National Congress. She also contested the Lok Sabha elections from Hyderabad under the ticket granted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
