He has served as the national spokesperson for the party and was also appointed as the national secretary of the party. Upadhyay has also been a member of various committees and has been actively involved in various legal and political matters. He has written extensively on legal, constitutional and political issues and has been a guest speaker at various national and international seminars. He has also been a member of the Delhi Bar Council and has represented various clients in the High Court and the Supreme Court of India.
