Ravi Kishan, the heart-throb of Bhojpuri film industry was born on 17 July 1969 in a small village called Bisuin which is located at Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. His original name is Ravindra Shyamnarayan Shukla. Ravi Kishan is Indian film actor and politician. He is popular among his fans in Hindi films and Bhojpuri films. He is known for acting in some Telegu, Tamil and Kannada movies as well. He also appeared in Bigg Boss in 2006 and participated in Jhalak Dikhlaja in 2012. Currently, Ravi Kishan is serving as the Lok Sabha Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Gorakhpur since May 2019. Earlier, he was associated with Indian National Congress till 2017. Ravi Kishan is married to Preeti Kishan and lives with his 4 children in Delhi, India.
Ravi Kishan started his acting career in Hindi films with his debut movie Pitambar (1992). After that he appeared in more films like Udhaar Ki Zindagi (1994), Kudrat (1998), Keemat (1998), Tere Naam (2003), Aan: Men at Work (2004), Phir Hera Pheri 2 (2006), Tanu Weds Manu (2011), Agent Vinod (2012), Batla House (2019), etc. Ravi Kishan appeared in his first ever Bhojpuri movie called Saiyaan Hamaar (2003). After that he appeared in the hit film ‘Pandit Ji Batai Na Biyah Kab Hoi’ (2004), Banke Bihari MLA (2006), Janam Janam Ke Saath (2007), Bhoomiputra (2009), Hamar Devdas (2011), etc. Ravi Kishan also appeared in many south films like Tamil film Monalisa En Monalisa (1999), Kannada film Hebbuli (2017), Telugu film Race Gurram (2014), Kick 2 (2015), Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2019), and more films in Indian regional and national languages.
Ravi Kishan is also known to work in some of the best shows of Indian television serials and shows like Doordarshan’s Jai Hanuman as Lord Krishna (1997), Sahara TV’s Har Mod Par (2002), DD Metro’s Hello Inspector (2002), Award winning DD National serial Hawayein (2004), NDTV Imagine’s Raaz Pichle Janmon Ka (2009- 2010), etc. He also appeared in Zee5’s web series called Rangbaaz.
Ravi Kishan is also famous in dubbing for various Hollywood movies in Hindi. Some of the notable ones are Voice of Tobey Maguire’s in Spiderman in Hindi and Bhojpuri. Therefore, the hard work and dedication of Ravi Kishan in the Indian film and television industry has earned him many awards and accolades. He is even awarded the Most Popular Actor Award at ETV Bhojpuri Cinema Samman in 2008.
