Hailing from Israel, American actress Natalie Portman was born on 9th June 1981. However, she, along with her family, immigrated to Washington when she was still a baby. Later, the family shifted to Long Island in New York. Here, Natalie got admission in Syosset High School.
She began her modelling career when she was 11 years old and later partnered with Usdan Theatre Arts Camp, where she took up offers for local productions.
Also, she pursued her studies by earning a degree in Psychology from Harvard University; she graduated with honors in June 2003.

Natalie made her debut in Hollywood with Professional (1994); Luc Besson is the writer and director of this movie. Then, in the year 1995, she was seen in Heat that showcased her as a troubled woman; Al Pacino played her father in this film.
Through the year 1997, Natalie also tried her hand in Broadway Theater, where she portrayed the titular role in the movie The Diary of Anne Frank.
In the year 1999, she started shooting for films again. She appeared as Queen Amidala in the much-awaited prequel Star Wars I: Phantom Menace.
