Career
- Modelling
Rush started her career with modelling, after she was approached to work in ad films. She worked with a spate of fashion brands in their ad campaigns as a model. Guess, Gap, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger – she has worked with all these renowned names.
- Acting
In the year 2010, she started her acting career with the television series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
However, she got a break in films in the year 2012 with the Disney production The Odd Life of Timothy Green, where she starred as Joni Jerome.
During the year 2015, she enacted the role of Ashley Burwood in the comedy-drama See You in Valhalla. In the same year, she appeared as the female lead Hannah Fairchild in the comedy drama Goosebumps.
Rush was also seen in a supporting role in Lady Bird (2017), a comedy film that is both written and directed by Greta Gerwig. For her role in this film, she, along with her film co-stars, was nominated for several awards at the Academy Awards. Among the five awards that this movie won at the Academy Awards was for Best Picture.
Rush has essayed lead roles in films such as Dumplin’ (2018) and Goosebumps (2015). Additionally, she played the lead role in the sci-fi movie Giver (2014), where she starred as Fiona.
Lately, Rush was acted in movies such as Pink Skies Ahead (2020) as Stephanie and Let it Snow (2019) as Addie.
Achievements
Rush is the recipient of the Best Performance in a Feature Film for the Leading Young Actress (14–21) Award for her film Goosebumps at the 2016 Young Artist Awards.
Early Life
Rush was born on 12th May 1997 in Haifa in Israel. In Hebrew, the meaning of her name, Odeya, means ‘I will thank God’. At the age of 8 years, she displayed her creative genius by writing and performing plays.
Because her father got a job as a security consultant in Alabama, she moved to the United States with her family when she was 9 years old. In Birmingham in Alabama, she got admission to NE Miles Jewish Day School. At a later stage, she shifted base to New York and was admitted to a public school.
In the year 2013, she started living in Los Angeles with her parents and brothers.
