Career

She chose the movie Grudge 2 (2006), with the character Vanessa, to make her Hollywood debut. However, the film did not do as well as expected.

Among her other earlier films are Take Me Home Tonight (2011), December Boys (2007), and Bedtime Stories (2008). However, she also made a mark in Hollywood with other movies like Berlin Syndrome (2017), Lights Out (2016), Hacksaw Bridge (2016), and Warm Bodies (2013).

Plus, in the Disney production Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2010), she essayed the role of Becky Barnes, who is a college student; her character in this movie is pursued by Dave Stutler, who studies Physics and serves as an apprentice to the wizard Balthazar – played by Nicholas Cage. This movie got mixed reviews and was a box office dud.

Along with her husband, Palmer has also co-produced, co-written, and appeared in The Ever After (2014), a drama film.

From the year 2018 onwards, she has also been starring in A Discovery of Witches; her character name in this drama series is Diana Bishop.

Palmer moved on to start a film production company by the name of Avakea Productions in the year 2009. The same year, she was chosen by Jurlique Cosmetics Company to be the face and spokesperson.

As part of her acting career, Palmer has also appeared in the sci-fi movie, I am Number Four (2011); in this venture, she was Number Six, who is one out of nine aliens seeking solace on Earth planet after their homes are broken down.
