A public Egyptian TV Channel, Nile TV International channel was launched on 31st October 1994. The headquarters of the Nile TV International channel are based in Cairo, Egypt. The owner of the Nile TV International channel is the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU).
Nile TV is recognized for being the second Egyptian news network in Egypt to provide satellite TV service. Also, it is hailed for being the first Arab satellite channel to air programs in foreign languages – including English and French. Previously, the Nile TV International channel would provide a 2-hour Hebrew service every day, too.
Having four satellites, Nile TV International channel transmits to various countries: Africa, United States, Europe, Middle East, Cairo, and the Arab World. In addition, the Nile TV channel is available on the UHF band as a terrestrial channel.
During the month of July 2008, Nile TV International was formally inducted into ERTU’s News Center; Abdel-Latif el-Menawy heads the ERTU.
Presently, Sameh Ragaee is the President of the Nile TV International channel. He joined the company in the year 2014, and he was earlier the President of the Al-Nile Al-Akhbar (Nile News) Channel.
Among the programs that Nile TV International broadcasts are Front Line, Egypt Today, Panorama News, Open To Question, Arab Affairs, and Monday. Business World, Nile Cruise, and Cairo Watch are other programs that air on the Nile TV International channel.
