Dawn News is a Pakistan news channel that delivers news all through the day. The headquarters of Dawn News is traced to Karachi in Sindh in Pakistan. This popular news channel is a subsidiary of one of Pakistan’s largest English media houses, Pakistan Herald Publications Limited (PHPL).

While the channel conducted test transmission on 25th May 2007, the channel started broadcasting live from 23rd July 2007 onwards. Initially, the channel was broadcasting only in the English Language. However, Dawn News started airing news in the Urdu language from 15th May 2010 onwards. As a result of poor viewership and financial hardships, the channel made a transmission from an English news channel to an Urdu news channel.

The then former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf launched the test transmission of Dawn News. The channel started operations from Haroon House, which is the head office of PHPL. Even so, the channel shifted base to West Wharf in Karachi, which is its current location.

Dawn News is accessible in both the urban areas and rural districts of Pakistan. Also, the channel has tie-ups with many satellite TV channels. These include Aljazeera, ABC News, Sky News, and BBC World News. As a result, Dawn News is available in countries such as Africa, Middle East, Europe, and United States.

Among the popular programs that air on Dawn News are Awam Ki Baat, 9 Do 11, Bol Bol Pakistan, and Hoshiyar. Among other programs that are broadcast on Dawn News are Do Raaye, Chai Toast Aur Host, Faisla Awam Ka, I-Techie, and NewsEye.
